Forward-Deployed Engineer
We’re looking for someone to help large capital project organizations use generative AI to manage their most complex, high-stakes work.
That means working directly with clients—on-site and hands-on—to translate pain points into tailored software, and to make sure it gets used where it counts. You’ll configure and extend our product, State, so it fits into the complexity of large capital project environments.
You’ll be our first forward-deployed engineer—and the day-to-day lead at the client. You’ll be the person who closes the loop between user needs and engineering output, makes adoption stick, and helps uncover where we can drive impact next.
We’re a team of builders, and we’re looking for someone who wants to build—inside the client, alongside users, and across the product.
What you’ll do
This role is about making the product work—clearly, effectively, and in close collaboration with the people who need it.
Embed with client teams—project executives, engineering, project SMEs, IT/Tech—to deploy and scale our AI tools
Design and adapt structured review modules (LLM prompt-based workflows) to support project execution
Configure model behavior, run evaluations, and shape workflows in real enterprise contexts
Guide training, workshops, and feedback loops to build trust and drive usage
Translate needs into crisp input for the engineering team—scoping features, surfacing blockers, prioritizing clearly
Identify new use cases and help shape where and how we expand next
Be on-site often, making sure the system lands—and lasts
Who you are
You’ve shipped serious software in serious environments. You care about results, and you know how to navigate the structures around them.
6+ years experience as a data engineer—or working closely with data engineering teams—inside enterprise environments, ideally in the context of deploying AI or analytics workflows at scale; either in consulting, internal product/platforms, or solutions engineering
Strong technical fluency: Python, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and system integration
Experience working with LLM-based tools—prompting, evaluation, debugging, or configuring end-to-end workflows
You know how to navigate and work through enterprise constraints: access controls, compliance requirements, deployment complexity
You can lead technical discovery and presales discussions with credibility, helping the client connect their landscape with our solution
You thrive in broad, high-context roles that blend technical depth, project delivery, and client leadership—and you're excited to own that mix
You want to do what it takes to help the client succeed
You're a builder at heart—focused on outcomes, not optics
You’re comfortable being on-site, in the room, and in the loop
You’ll be the person who makes AI work where it matters most.
