Ops lead / chief of staff

We’re looking for someone to own everything that’s not product or engineering.

That means internal ops, finance, people, legal, admin, internal tools—whatever it takes to keep the company running smoothly. You’ll work directly with the founders and take full ownership of how we operate. This isn’t about optimizing a system someone else built. It’s about building that system from scratch.

This is the only non-engineering hire for the foreseeable future—and a critical one. You’ll bring structure, pace, and calm, so the rest of the team can stay focused and move fast.

What you’ll do

The scope is wide, by design. This is the role that keeps the company working—day in, day out.

  • Run our internal rhythm: planning cycles, check-ins, team offsites, company-wide comms.

  • Set up just enough structure on hiring, onboarding, and basic people ops so we can scale well.

  • Coordinate with external partners—finance, legal, payroll, compliance—and keep it all tight.

  • Own internal tools and workflows: docs, approvals, vendors, the practical glue.

  • Get us set up for in-person work—office, logistics, all the small things that matter more than they seem.

  • Spot issues before they become problems. Step in where needed. Keep things moving.

Who you are

You’ve done this before. You know what early-stage feels like, and you like it. You know how to go from zero to one—not just in theory, but in practice.

  • You’ve got 7+ years of experience across ops, people, finance, or strategy—and you’ve worn a few hats.

  • You’ve worked in fast-paced software environments (bonus if enterprise or AI) and know what good looks like.

  • You’re structured, clear, and reliable. People trust you to land the plane.

  • You get energy from making things work behind the scenes—and you take pride in doing it well.

  • You’re not looking to manage a big team. You want to build the foundations yourself.

You’ll be the person who makes sure the company works. And you’ll shape what this becomes—just as much as any engineer or product lead.
